UNDERCOVER S/S 1996 "Under The Cover"

The 1996 Spring/Summer collection, titled "Under The Cover," was not showcased during Fashion Week. This eerie and grotesque series was inspired by metal bands White Zombie and Ministry.

The character designs for "Under The Cover" were crafted by Japanese artist Screaming Mad George, known for his horror and bizarre installations. His creations included blue-faced, fang-bearing vampires, cyclops monsters, half-beast creatures, and even aquatic alien aesthetics, reflecting Jun Takahashi's fantastical imagination.

The final visual effects were brought to life by Kyoji Takahashi through special effects. The horror movie-like poster designs added to the rebellious and mysterious vibe of the 1996 Spring/Summer collection. Ultimately, the entire collection was featured in the special issue "UNDER The COVER."
